Adult Protective Services Specialists help to protect vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect and exploitation. They help end abuse by matching the needs of the person, with community partners in their area. Partners like mental health, public health, law enforcement, the courts, the aging network, community groups and the public.

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate)Trained volunteers who are court appointed to advocate on behalf of abused and neglected children in the court system.

Center for Restorative Youth Justice (CRYJ)CRYJ’s programming aims to provide our community’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged youth with access to healthy and productive futures. CRYJ’s restorative programming is founded on a “whole child approach,” with a deep belief that there are no throwaway youth or people – and that our communities are safer and stronger when we are able to care for each other.

Child Development CenterProvides home and center based services for children, from ages 0-21 who are developmentally delayed or disabled, and their families. Provides evaluation, training and support.

Child Support EnforcementThe mission of the Child Support Enforcement Division (CSED) of the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services is to diligently pursue and ultimately achieve financial and medical support of children by establishing, enforcing, and increasing public awareness of parental obligations. Includes locating absent parents; establishing paternity; establishing financial and medical support orders; enforcing current and past-due child support; offering medical and spousal support; and modifying child support orders.

Coats For KidsAnnual event providing winter outerwear to children. Coats for Kids was started by the Kalispell Jaycees 26 years ago to help underprivileged children receive new warm winter clothing. The first year they helped 17 families and through growth and continued commitment to this community, we have served over 2900 families throughout the entire Flathead Valley. Over 300 children last year alone.

Head StartHead Start is a pre-school program available at no cost to income eligible families. Also offers referral services for other needs.

The Nurturing CenterA family resource center that provides a clearinghouse of information and services to parents of children of all ages; education programs, support groups, child care assistance and referrals, lending library, home visiting services, and specialized services to strengthen families; a nutrition education program, training and technical assistance, and start-up support for child care providers; ParentShare, birth-five support groups; GEM, a mentoring program for young women.
